July begins on a sunny note with 12.7 hours of sunshine recorded for Saturday the 1st. The high was 83F/29C and the low was 76F/24C. Convergence around the Bermuda high kicked off isolated thunderstorms on the evening of the 2nd resulting in .05" of rainfall. The high temperature climbed to 86F/30C while the low was 77F/25C. Several hours of thunderstorms were observed on the evening of 3rd as high pressure retreated eastward. A peak wind of 25 knots and .47" of rainfall was recorded along with a high of 85F/29C and a low of 73F/23F. Tuesday July 4th continued with vicinity showers and thunderstorms as convergence persisted in the area. There was 0.05" of precipitation recorded with a high of 86F/30C, a low of 78F/26C and 6.6 hours of sunshine. Several showers and isolated thunderstorms persisted into Wednesday the 4th and tropical moisture remained high in our area. The high for the day was 85F/29C, with a low of 73F/23C, 6.4 hours of sunshine and 0.8" of precipitation. Unsettled conditions continued on Thursday the 6th with several showers and a few thunderstorms. There was 0.27" of precipitation recorded with 2.0 hours of sunshine. The high for the day was 85F/30C with a low of 75F/24C. Cloudy skies continued for the 7th resulting in 3.1 hours of sunshine with periods of light rain generating 0.02" of rainfall and blustery winds that resulted in a peak wind of 30 knots. The high was 84F/29C and the low was 76F/25C. On Saturday the 8th 8.9 hours of sunshine was recorded and a few brief showers produced a trace of precipitation. The high was 86F/30C and the low was 78F/26C. Fair to fine skies gave way to 12.0 hours of sunshine on Sunday July 9th. One or two showers developed in the area with a trace of precipitation recorded at the airport. The high was 84F/29C and the low was 77F/26C. Stable and sunny once again on the 10th as we recorded 11.1 hours of sunshine along with a high of 84F/29C and a low of 80F/27C. The 11th saw ample sunshine under continued high pressure. The high was 86F/30C, the low 78F/26C while southeast breezes prevailed. Wednesday the 12th continued to be fair with a high of 85F/29C, a low of 79F/26C and 12.6 hours of sunshine. The persistent ridge continued through Thursday the 13th, providing a high of 85F/30C, with a low of 79F/26C, and 12.7 hours of sunshine. A few showers were in the area Friday the 14th as conditions still remained settled. The high was 85F/30C with a low of 79F/26C and 12.4 hours of sunshine. A fine day across Bermuda on the 15th with 12 hours of sunshine, a high of 86F/30C and a low of 79F/26C. A brief shower with .02" of rainfall occurred on the 16th as the Bermuda high has begun to weaken. The high was 86F/30C and the low 78F/26C. 12.6 hours of sunshine was recorded. Convergent moist low level flow resulted in cloudy skies, thunderstorms and 1.21" of rainfall on the 17th. A peak convective gust of 26 knots was observed along with a high of 82F/28C and a low of 75F/24C. The 18th saw a transition of early showers with .30" of rainfall to a mostly sunny afternoon and 9.4 hours of sunshine for the day. A convective gust to 28 knots was recorded early, meanwhile the high was 86F/30C and the low 72F/22C. Wednesday the 19th was fairly settled with a few clouds allowing for 11.6 hours of sunshine. The high was 86F/30C with a low of 79F/26C. A couple of showers during the day on Thursday the 20th, turned into heavy showers in the late evening. The majority of the 1.1" recorded fell in the late evening and early late night hours. There were 11.8 hours of sunshine recorded and the high for the day was 86F/30C with a heavy rain shower that drove the low down to 75F/24C. A couple of showers lingered through the morning of Friday the 21st. The high for the day was 87F/30C with a low of 75F/24C, 10.3 hours of sunshine, and 0.3" of precipitation. High pressure began to build in from the southeast on the 22nd resulting in moderate westerly winds, 11.2 hours of sunshine, a warm high of 87F/31C and a low of 82F/28C.
