Written Summary   Table One   Table Two   Graphs
Notes:
1. Mean daily temperature and pressure are averaged from the standard 24 hourly observations and not as the average of the maximum and minimum values.
2. Precipitation day has = or >0.01". Trace amounts (< 0.01") are not included in data.
3. Departures from the normal are based on the 1971 to 2000 normals where available (with the exception of the Sea Surface Temperature, which is based on the 1985 to 2000 normal).
Notes:
1. Mean humidity is averaged from the standard 24 hourly observations.
2. Weather Notes indicate a specific condition was observed at least once that day.
3. Departures from the normal are based on the 1971 to 2000 normals where available (with the exception of the Sea Surface Temperature, which is based on the 1985 to 2000 normal).
Key:
PN = Precipitation, PC = Partly Cloudy, MC = Mostly Cloudy, OV = Overcast, DZ = Drizzle, SH = Showers, BS = Blowing Spray GR = Hail, FC = Funnel Cloud, HZ = Haze, RA = Rain, BR = Mist, TS = Thunder Storm/Shower

Saturday the 1st was breezy but mainly dry and very humid as a deepening low to the distant northwest ushered in mild southerly flow. The high was 79F/26C with a low of 74F/24C and only 1.1 hours of sunshine. The continually deepening low then brought near gales into the area on the 2nd, verifiable over the extreme northwestern marine area and most exposed/elevated parts of the Island, with peak winds of 29 knots and gusts to 37 knots at the airport. Under 5.1 hours of sun, 0.04" of rain fell, with a high of 78F/26C and a low of 64F/18C. A slow-moving trough passed on the 3rd, with occasional strong winds, scattered showers (0.02") and 7.6 hours of sunshine. The high was 73F/23C with a low of 66F/19C. The 4th saw high pressure and dry conditions develop, with continued easing winds and 9 hours of sun. The high reached 74F/23C with a low of 68F/20C. The 5th once again saw high pressure, but a low to the distant south produced more cloud cover, with only 6 hours of sunshine. The high was 77F/25C with a low of 69F/20C. Thursday the 6th saw a trough move across the area from the south. This brought cloudy skies, just 2.6 hours of sun, and 0.57" of rainfall. The high was 79F/26C with a low of 71F/22C. Friday the 7th saw a cold front move across the area, producing showers, thunderstorms and 1.20" of rainfall. Moderate to strong winds with gusts to near gale force accompanied the front with a peak wind of 33 knots. The high was 77F/25C with a low of 70F/21C.
Saturday the 8th settled as high pressure rapidly built in to the near north. However, a trough from the south brought 0.13" of rain later in the day. The high was 75F/24C with a low of 69F/20C and 6.8 hours of sunshine. The 9th saw significant rainfall as a low developed to the west, with a warm front and then trough affecting the area from predawn through afternoon. The high was 78F/25C, the low 69F/21C, with 2.71" of precipitation and just 0.7 hours of sun. The 10th brought a warm high of 81F/27C after a low of 73F/23C on moderate south winds, as strong high pressure to the east held a front to the west. A brief shower gave 0.02", while 3.2 hours of sunshine shone. Low cloud and mist developed overnight into the morning of the 11th, with near 100% relative humidity and a morning low of 72F/22C. The high reached 79F/26C on the 11th as a low to the west held moderate southerly winds in place. 0.08" of rain fell in a few showers and only 1.5 hours of sun were recorded. The 12th saw a pre-frontal trough, then a frontal passage through the day, with 0.65" of precipitation and a couple of thunderstorms. The high was 77F/25C with a low of 67F/19C and no sunshine.
The 13th saw high pressure and dry conditions return with 8.7 hours of sunshine. The high was 79F/26C with a low of 70F/21C. Friday the 14th saw a weak frontal boundary affecting the area bringing 0.01" of rain. Sunshine remained extensive at 9.7 hours. The high was 80F/27C with a low of 70F/21C. Saturday the 15th saw the weak front move through from the northwest, bringing 0.06" of rainfall and a peak wind of 24 knots. There were 7 hours of sunshine with a high of 80F/26C and a low of 67F/19C. High pressure returned on the 16th with a cool and dry airmass and moderating winds. The high was 73F/23C with a low of 67F/19C and 9.1 hours of sunshine. Monday the 17th remained mainly dry (just a trace) and settled as high pressure gradually migrated northeast. The high was 77F/25C with a low of 68F/20C and 7.3 hours of sun. Cloud cover and humidity increased on Tuesday the 18th ahead of an approaching cold front, with a trace of rain and 3.6 hours of sunshine. The high was 78F/26C with a low of 73F/23C. The front passed through during the morning of the 19th with showers and thunderstorms. After some let up in the day, precipitation returned in the evening as steady rain, resulting in a total of 1.07". Overcast skies persisted with no sun. The high of 76F/24C occurred in the morning before frontal passage, while a low of 59F/15C was registered in the rain-cooled late night air. Under dense overcast associated with the polar front jet near to our northwest and occasionally strong northeasterly surface winds behind the latest cold front, the 20th had a high of 69F/20C and a low of 58F/14C, no sun and 0.99" of rain which fell mainly throughout the morning. High pressure began to build back into the area from the west during the 21st, with mainly dry air and some developing sunshine (8.1 hours). The high was 75F/24C with a low of 64F/18C. A weak trough passed in the late-afternoon with developing strong northwesterly winds and a trace of rain in a shower. The 22nd saw high pressure slowly building back in with 5.9 hours of sunshine. The high was 68F/20C with a low of 61F/16C. High pressure again was dominant on the 23rd, with 5.5 hours of sunshine. The high was 70F/21C with a low of 61F/16C. The 24th and 25th continue to be influenced by high pressure holding across the area. Monday the 24th saw 6.1 hours of sunshine with no rainfall. The high was 76F/24C with a low of 68F/20C. Tuesday the 25th saw 5.9 hours of sunshine with no rainfall. The high was 79F/26C with a low of 71F/22C. A ridge of high pressure continued to maintain fair conditions on the 26th with 8.8 hours of sunshine and a trace of precipitation. The high was 78F/25C with a low of 71F/22C. A cold front passed in the evening of the 27th bringing showers and thunderstorms totaling 1.11" of precipitation. Warm and fair conditions preceded the front during the day with 9.5 hours of sunshine and a high temperature of 79F/26C and a rain cooled low of 65F/19C.
