The first day of September was dominated by high pressure providing fine weather. There was 11.3 hours of sunshine and no rainfall with a high of 83F/28C and a low of 75F/24C. A weak trough brought a few unexpected showers on Saturday the 2nd producing 0.07" of rain. The associated cloud cover allowed only 3.8 hours of sunshine. The high was 84F/29C and the low was 77F/25C. On Sunday the 3rd high pressure slowly reasserted itself across the region only allowing a trace of rainfall from a rogue shower. Overall 10.5 hours of sunshine was observed and the high reached 85F/30C. The low was 78F/25C. On holiday Monday September 4th, skies were partly cloudy with 9.6 hours of sunshine recorded. The high was 84F/29C and the low was 77F/25C. A weak surface trough passed through providing .10" of rainfall on the 5th. The high climbed to 86F/30C and the low was 77F/25C. The 6th saw another surface trough pass from the southeast providing a few showers with a total of 0.16" of rainfall and a convective gust of 33 knots. The high was 86F/30C and the low dipped to 79F/26C. On the 7th just a few light showers affected the island among 10.3 hours of sunshine giving 0.08" of rain. The high was 87F/30C and the low 79F/26C. The 8th was a dry day with mostly sunny skies giving 11.3 hours of sunshine. The high was 86F/30C and the low was 81F/27C. Saturday the 9th continued to be fairly settled with one light shower recorded with 0.01" of precipitation. The high for the day was 86F/30C with a low of 80F/27C and 10.3 hours of sunshine. A cold front drew near on the 10th imparting .24" of rainfall with area thunder. The high was 87F/31C and the low was 78F/25C under partly to mostly cloudy skies. Skies remained mostly cloudy to overcast after the passage of a cold front on the 11th with showers and brief outbreaks of rain early on, providing 0.28" of rain and only 4.3 hours of sunshine. The high was 81F/27C and the low 75F/24C. High pressure provided fine weather for Tuesday the 12th with cooler temperatures and lower humidity. There was 10.4 hours of sunshine and no rainfall. The high was 81F/27C and the low was 75F/24C. High pressure to our north continued to provide mainly fine weather for Wednesday the 13th. There was 9.7 hours of sunshine and no rainfall. The high was 83F/28C and the low was 76F/24C. High pressure to our north provided mainly fair weather for Thursday the 14th with 8.2 hours of sunshine, though a light evening shower produced 0.04" of rain. The high was 84F/29C and the low was 75F/24C. Friday the 15th remained fair with 8.3 hours of sunshine and no rainfall. Moderate southeast winds drove the high up to 86F/30C with a low of 81F/27C. Saturday the 16th was mostly cloudy but dry. There was still 8 hours of sunshine and no rainfall. The high was 85F/29C and the low was 80F/27C. Clouds increased to overcast through Sunday the 17th with only 2.1 hours of sunshine but no precipitation. The high was 85F/29C and the low was 79F/26C. Overcast skies along with occasional showers persisted through Monday the 18th, with 0.7 hours of sunshine and 1.43" of rain. The high was 82F/28C with a low of 75F/24C. Tuesday the 19th saw showers and isolated thunderstorms as a rain band from distant Hurricane Jose continued to affect the Island. The high for the day was 84F/29C with a low of 74F/23C, 1.02" of precipitation and 4.1 hours of sunshine.
