Despite a couple light showers in the vicinity, there was no rainfall on Monday the 1st. Mostly cloudy skies allowed only 4.0 hours of sunshine. The high was 76F/24C and the low was 69F/21C. Tuesday the 2nd was fair but mainly cloudy. There was 6.0 hours of sunshine and no rainfall. The high climbed to 78F/26C with a low of 70F/21C. A ridge of high pressure maintained dry, but occasional cloudy conditions on the 3rd with 7.5 hours of sunshine. The high was 77F/25C and the low was 71F/22C. Fine conditions prevailed on the 7th under continued high pressure. Light to moderate winds with a high of 78F/26C, and a low of 70F/21C was observed. The 5th saw increasing winds and a trace of rainfall as high pressure began to retreat to the east. The high temperature was 78F/26C, the low 70F/21C and 9.3 hours of sunshine was recorded. The high climbed to 77F/25C with a low of 71F/22C on May 6th. Strong southeasterly winds persisted through the day with 9.0 hours of sunshine recorded. A cold front neared on the 7th producing .15" of rainfall and a peak gust from the south-southwest at 32 knots. Zero hours of sunshine was recorded along with a high of 74F and a low of 69F. A cold front exited east on the 8th leaving .03" of rainfall in the morning, otherwise cloudy skies with less than 1 hour of sunshine, a high of 73F/23C and a low of 68F/20C. Tuesday the 9th was mainly fair with 10.3 hours of sunshine, though a late evening shower provided 0.02" of rain. The high was 77F/25C and the low was 67F/19C. Wednesday the 10th was mainly fair with 9.1 hours of sunshine, though a passing frontal trough brought 0.19" of rain with afternoon showers. The high was 76F/24C and the low was 64F/18C. May 11th was a noticeably cool day under overcast skies. The high reached 70F/21C and the low was 65F/18C. A trace of precipitation was recorded courtesy of a couple of very light showers. Friday May 12th was a blustery day as a small-scale low passed over the island generating a peak wind of 49 knots at the airport while a few showers produced 0.04" of rainfall. The high reached 74F/24C and the low was 64F/18C. Saturday the 13th was mainly fine with 9.4 hours of sunshine and no rainfall. The high was 73F/23C and the low was 66F/19C. Sunday the 14th was mainly fair with 6.2 hours of sunshine, though a stray shower produced a trace of rainfall. Southwesterly winds drove the high to 79F/26C with a low of 70F/21C. A weak cold front passed early on the 15th with vicinity showers and distant lightning to the north. 11.6 hours of sunshine was recorded along with a high of 77F/25C and a low of 70F/21C. An early morning weak cold front produced a gust to 27 knots on the 16th, otherwise mostly sunny skies prevailed as high pressure began to build towards Bermuda. The high was 75F/24C with a low of 67F/19C. Wednesday the 17th was very settled with light and variable winds as a center of high pressure established itself over the area. The high was 74F/23C with a low of 66F/19C and 12.4 hours of sunshine. High pressure persisted Thursday the 19th with a high of 75F/24C, a low of 64F/18C, and 9.9 hours of sunshine. High pressure provided another fine day on Friday the 19th. There was 11.2 hours of sunshine and no rainfall. The high was 76F/24C and the low was 66F/19C. High pressure continued to provide fine weather for Saturday the 20th. There was 8.6 hours of sunshine and no rainfall, with a high of 76F/24C and a low of 66F/19C. Fine weather continued to dominate for Sunday the 21st. There was 11.8 hours of sunshine, followed by a light late evening shower that produced 0.01" of rain. The was 78F/25C and the low was 69F/20C. A cold front stalled over the island imparting 0.18" of rainfall with zero hours of sunshine on the 22nd. The high and the low were 73F/23C and 66F/19C respectively. The stalled front moved northward as a warm front early on the 23rd leaving behind .06" of rainfall. Partly cloudy skies returned as we recorded 11 hours of sunshine and rising temperatures. The high was 78F/26C and the low 68F/20C. Moderate southwest winds with our first 80F degree day of the year occurred on Bermuda Day. Partly cloudy skies, 11.2 hours of sunshine and a low of 71F/22C was also observed. Thursday the 25th was breezy and humid as a cold front to the distant west began to slowly approach. The high for the day was 80F/27C, with a low of 73F/23C, and 7.7 hours of sunshine. A slow moving, dissipating cold front affected the area for most of Friday the 26th. Strong winds with max gusts of 31kt were recorded. The front passed just after midnight leaving 0.07" of precipitation. The high for the day was 79F/26C, with a low of 73F/23C, and 4.1 hours of sunshine. Saturday the 27th was mainly fine with light to moderate winds. The high was 80F/26C with a low of 72F/22C, and 11.6 hours of sunshine.
