Written Summary   Table One   Table Two   Graphs
Notes:
1. Mean daily temperature and pressure are averaged from the standard 24 hourly observations and not as the average of the maximum and minimum values.
2. Precipitation day has = or >0.01". Trace amounts (< 0.01") are not included in data.
3. Departures from the normal are based on the 1971 to 2000 normals where available (with the exception of the Sea Surface Temperature, which is based on the 1985 to 2000 normal).
Notes:
1. Mean humidity is averaged from the standard 24 hourly observations.
2. Weather Notes indicate a specific condition was observed at least once that day.
3. Departures from the normal are based on the 1971 to 2000 normals where available (with the exception of the Sea Surface Temperature, which is based on the 1985 to 2000 normal).
Key:
PN = Precipitation, PC = Partly Cloudy, MC = Mostly Cloudy, OV = Overcast, DZ = Drizzle, SH = Showers, BS = Blowing Spray GR = Hail, FC = Funnel Cloud, HZ = Haze, RA = Rain, BR = Mist, TS = Thunder Storm/Shower

April started with mainly fine weather. There was 10.4 hours of sunshine, though a light shower managed to produce a trace of rain. The high was 72F/22C and the low was 63F/17C. On Tuesday the 2nd a weak warm front moved back through to our north, leaving behind 0.06" of rain and allowing only 1.8 hours of sunshine. The high was 70F/21C and the low was 61F/16C. A weak cold front moved through on Wednesday the 3rd producing 0.09" of rain and allowing only 3.7 hours of sunshine. The high was 75F/24C and the low was 64F/18C. Sunny periods occurred on the 4th with a high of 70F/21C and low of 64F/18C with 0" of rain and 5.2 hours or sunlight. A mix of sun and cloud occurred on the 5th with a high of 71F/22C and low of 63F/17C with 0" of rain and 11 hours of sunlight. Low pressure passing to the south sent mostly cloudy skies on the 6th with only 3.8 hours of sunshine. The high was 73F/23C and the low fell to 66F/19C. Weak low pressure in the area sent 0.04" of rainfall on the 7th while we had very light wind, a high of 73F/23C and a low of 63F/17C with a touch of near dawn mist. The 8th was stable with a peak wind of only 14 knots and 10.5 hours of sunshine while the high reached 73F/23C and a low of 64F/18C was observed. Fine weather prevailed on Tuesday the 9th. There was 10.7 hours of sunshine and no rainfall with a high of 73F/23C and a low of 67F/20C. A slow moving cold front approaching from the northwest allowed only 2.5 hours of sunshine on Wednesday the 10th, followed by 0.43" of rain. The high was 75F/24C and the low was 67F/20C. A morning cold front delivered 0.09" of rain on Thursday the 11th, followed by only 2.1 hours of sunshine. The high was 69F/20C and the low was 62F/17C. Ample sunshine occurred on the 12th with a high of 68F/20C and low of 61F/18C with 0" of rainfall and 12 hours of sunlight. High pressure was in control on the 13th with a high of 72F/22C and low of 62F/17C with 0" of rain and 8 hours of sunlight. The 14th saw long sunny periods with clouds in the evening under persistent high pressure. We recorded 9.2 hours of sunshine, a high of 74F/24C and a low of 68F/20C. The 15th was dry & sunnier with 11.4 hours of sunshine and in the moderate southerly winds, our max temp bumped up slightly to 74.5F/24C after holding at 68F/20C through the night. After an early morning high of 73F/23C, clouds thickened and lowered in as a narrow frontal band quickly crossed the island reducing the visibility to less than a mile in a heavy shower which gave just of 1/2" of rainfall. Conditions rapidly improved within the hour and the rest of the day saw 10.2 hours of sunshine. High pressure provided fine weather for Wednesday the 17th. There was 10.9 hours of sunshine and no rainfall with a high of 69F/21C and a low of 63F/17C. On Thursday, the 18th, the combination of a weak trough descending from the north and a low stacking of reverse Morgan's cloud (in the light NE flow) resulted in a cloudy afternoon, with sprinkles felt in western parishes. Officially 7.6 hours of sunshine was recorded and the high reached 71F/21.5C. Sunny skies occurred on the 19th with a high of 71F/22C and low of 63F/17C, 0" of rainfall and 12.1 hours of sunlight. Another sunny day occurred on the 21st with a high of 74F/23C and low of 68F/20C with 0" of rain and 12.1 hours of sunlight. Mainly sunny skies occurred on the 21st with a high of 73F/23C and low of 69F/21C with 0" of rain and 10.4 hours of sunlight. Dominant high pressure delivered sunny skies with 10.5 hours of sunshine on the 22nd, while the high was 74F/23C and a low of 68F/20C. High pressure weakened on the 23rd, yet we still received 8.2 hours of sunshine. The wind was very light while the high reached 74F/23C after a low of 66F/19C. On Wednesday the 24th a weak, slow moving trough produced 0.10" of rain, though there was still 7.0 hours of sunshine. The high was 72F/22C and the low was 65F/18C.
