Notes:
1. Mean daily temperature and pressure are averaged from the standard 24 hourly observations and not as the average of the maximum and minimum values.
2. Precipitation day has = or >0.01". Trace amounts (< 0.01") are not included in data.
3. Departures from the normal are based on the 1971 to 2000 normals where available (with the exception of the Sea Surface Temperature, which is based on the 1985 to 2000 normal).
Notes:
1. Mean humidity is averaged from the standard 24 hourly observations.
2. Weather Notes indicate a specific condition was observed at least once that day.
3. Departures from the normal are based on the 1971 to 2000 normals where available (with the exception of the Sea Surface Temperature, which is based on the 1985 to 2000 normal).
Key:
PN = Precipitation, PC = Partly Cloudy, MC = Mostly Cloudy, OV = Overcast, DZ = Drizzle, SH = Showers, BS = Blowing Spray GR = Hail, FC = Funnel Cloud, HZ = Haze, RA = Rain, BR = Mist, TS = Thunder Storm/Shower

The 1st of May saw the passage of a cold front bringing showers to the area resulting in 0.05'' of rainfall and cloudy skies. Peak winds near 38 knots were recorded along with 6.9 hours of sunshine, a high of 22.7C/72.9F, and a low of 17.2C/63F. On the 2nd, high pressure became dominant in the wake of the front settling conditions and easing winds. 6.7 hours of sunshine was recorded along with a no precipitation, a high of 21.4C/70.5F and a low of 14.7C/58.5F. High pressure continued to dominate on the 3rd as mostly sunny skies with a light to moderate southwesterly breeze was observed. Another settled day occurred on the 4th under strong high pressure, though only 5 hours of sunshine was recorded. The latest sea surface temperature jumped up to 23.2C/73.8F while the high temperature was 24.5C/76.1F. We remained on the western flank of the ridge with a warm, moist, moderate SW flow that brought lots of low cloud ceilings, going as low as 600ft overnight on the 5th after only giving 5.5hrs of sunshine that day. With slightly higher winds on the 6th low level moisture mixed enough to disperse cloud and give 10.8hrs of sunshine while temperatures rose to a high of 78.4F/25.8C then dipped slightly to 71.1F/21.7C. The 7th was largely dry by day, but turned showery from evening onwards, with a few thunderstorms developing overnight as a cold front approached from the west. Sometimes strong winds gusted near gale force around showers and thunderstorms, which brought 0.07" of rain. There were 7.9 hours of sun, and temperatures ranged from a high of 25.7C/78.3F to a rain cooled low of 19.9C/67.8F. The 8th saw the cold front and showers clear in the morning to leave a rather cloudy day. Strong and gusty southwest winds veered west in the afternoon, while easing. The peak gust was 39 knots. Just 0.8 hours of sun were recorded. 0.4" of rain fell, mostly during the early hours. Temperatures ranged from 23C/73.4F to 19.5C/67.1F. High pressure passed overhead on the 9th which aided a mostly sunny day with 12.5 hours of sunshine while the night was mostly clear. The high reached 22.8C/73.0F while the low dipped to 18.7C/65.7F. Ridging remained dominant on the 10th as another mostly sunny day with 12.3 hours of sunshine was observed as the high reached 24.3C/75.7F. Cloud cover increased slightly overnight as the ridge weakened ahead of a frontal boundary approaching from the west while the low from the early morning was 19.2C/66.6F. The 11th saw the increase of cloud cover with the recording of 6.2 hours of sunshine while a prefrontal trough approached. This trough bought a few showers to the area resulting in 0.01'' of rainfall while the high rose to 25.7C/78.3F and the low fell to 22.1C/71.8F. The 12th saw the slow progression and exit of the prefrontal trough out of the area. A few showers saw the recording of 0.04'' of rainfall while cloudy skies only permitted 5.1 hours of sunshine and a temperature range between 25.6C/78.1F to 21.4C/70.5F. A cold front passed on the 13th while delivering 0.18" of rainfall and a peak wind of 34 knots.
